IT was more a case of Big Mac(beth) than Shakespeare.
And it isn't perhaps the way the playwright envisaged his tragedy to be played out.
But for Hartpury Primary School pupils their contemporary take on the Scottish play's banquet scene was somewhat more engaging.
They headed to McDonald's in Westgate Street to create a film of the scene in which Macbeth plans the murder of King Duncan to take the throne.
Gwyneth Keen, dance and drama teacher, said: "For 10 and 11-year-olds they have got to know the script of Macbeth so well.
"They are all really keen.
"When we decided to do Macbeth the children wanted to make it more contemporary so they came up with lots of ideas for different scenes."
The project will culminate in an event later this term where parents can come and watch the final video, which will be combined with singing, sound effects and visuals.
