A POPULAR Coleford fish and chip shop suffered significant damage after fire broke out during lunch time service on Friday.
All three staff at The Tram Stop in St Johns Street escaped unhurt from the incident, believed to have started from electrical cables in an oil extraction unit.
Nine fire fighters from two crews at Coleford Community Fire Station were called to the scene just before 2pm to find a small fire and smoke billowing from the building.
Specialist ventilation equipment was used to clear smoke from the property.
Emergency services left the scene 25 minutes later.
