A SPECIAL performance by the Royal Marines Association Concert band will celebrate the long service of some of Gloucester's elder statesmen next month at Gloucester Cathedral.
The 50-strong band will play classic marching music, songs from Les Miserables and military favourites the Dambusters and the Cavalry Steps among others.
Neil Silvester says the Portsmouth-based band is looking forward to playing the venue.
"We read about Beryl Walker the long serving papergirl in Gloucester and Dunkirk veteran Jack Mews and wanted to invite them along to the night," he said. "We have a total of 1,800 service hours between us so know what loyalty is about." The concert is on Saturday, May 11, for tickets call 0845 652 1823.
