A CARNIVAL style street party is being planned to draw people into the city centre.
Circus performers will wow the crowds at The Big Event.
It will be held on June 8 in Westgate Street and College Street.
Live music, dancing and a craft market will bring the area to life.
It is being organised by traders including Miju Wool, Knobbly Cob and Spellbound who will all be offering discounts on the day.
Manager of the Treasure Seekers shop in College Street Craig Tucker said: "We want to try and bring more people down to this area and create a really lively atmosphere for all the family."
There will also be crochet and jewellery-making workshops.
