Police investigating an attempted serious sexual assault in Cheltenham have released a CCTV image of a cyclist they want to speak to.
The incident happened between 3.30am and 4am on Saturday February 3 as a 22-year-old woman was walking along Brunswick Street.
She was approached by a man who asked her for directions and then pushed her, attempted to remove her clothes and sexually assaulted her before running off in the direction of St. Margaret's Road (A4019).
The cyclist was seen on CCTV travelling along Swindon Road into St Margaret's Road towards the town centre at 3.37am on the day.
Detective Sergeant Nigel Hatten said: "This individual is not in any trouble, they are not a suspect, but they were in the area around the time of this upsetting incident and so they may be able to help us with our ongoing enquiries."
Anyone with information, should call police on 101, quoting incident 92 of February 3.
