Shoppers at Gloucester Quays might be wondering why they can hear the hum of a racing car engine this weekend.
The shopping centre is holding a new, free two-day remote control car grand prix.
The UK's top drivers are competing head-to-head on the first floor at the Quays while shoppers are also having a go.
Organiser Adrian Jefferies said: "It's been really popular so far, we've had lots of people in.
"The public sessions are getting booked up fast, everyone wants a go!
"The Quays is a great venue for it, we're really pleased."
Throughout the weekend, some of the country's top radio controlled car racers are assembling at the centre. A large carpet track has been built on the upper level above the shops.
All cars are four wheel drive and incorporate formula one technology, they are capable of reaching speeds of over 70mph and run on slick racing tyres.
