A GANG of suspected drug dealers was targeted by a huge police operation last night.
More than 40 officers were involved in four simultaneous raids across Gloucester.
They struck at The Regal in King's Square and three houses to catch a gang believed to be pedalling cocaine and the 'party drug' Mephedrone, better known as meow meow.
Two men were arrested at the pub on suspicion of possession with intent to sell.
A strip search of one man found what was thought to be meow, amphetamines and Viagra with a combined street value of £100.
Police raided properties in Badminton Road, Penhill Road and St Marks Street.
They found drugs, believed to be cocaine and a large amount of cash at one property. A woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell.
Sergeant Gary Chandler headed up the police operation and said one of this size was 'unusual' in Gloucester.
He added: "We have seized property and what is believed to be drugs.
"They will be tested and a wider operation will now take place to look at how far this goes.
"Open drug dealing, or drug dealing of any kind will not be tolerated in the city."
