A man and his dog were the victims of an unprovoked attack in Cheltenham High Street last week.
Police are appealing for members of the public to come forward with any information after a group of men approached a 40-year-old man outside Tesco Metro at 11pm on Thursday April 4.
One of the men proceeded to kick the dog and then assaulted the victim, causing injuries to his face.
The offender and the rest of the group then ran off along the High Street.
The offender was described as white and around 5ft 11ins tall.
He was wearing a grey coloured jacket.
Any witnesses to the assault are being urged to contact the investigating officer by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 479 of April 4.
