Cheltenham Town: Paul Benson could be back to face Bradford City

Cheltenham Town striker Paul Benson has an outside chance of being fit to face Bradford City in the final match of the regular season. The on-loan front man from Swindon Town suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle and left the ground on crutches. He underwent a scan on Tuesday morning, which revealed a grade one deltoid ankle ligament sprain. The 33-year-old will definitely miss Saturday's home match against leaders Gillingham and the trip to Exeter City a week later, but senior sports therapist Ian Weston said the injury could have been a lot worse. "It was a non-impact injury and Benno twisted his ankle both ways, but all the damage is on the side," Weston said. "He couldn't put his foot down after the game at Plymouth and that was obviously cause for concern on Saturday night, but he can put some weight on it now. "There should be more movement later this week and we'll aim to have him doing some light jogging next week, so I think this is positive news."
