DETAILS have been released tracking the movements of a sex attacker before he assaulted a 24-year-old woman in Cheltenham's Promenade.
Police highlighted the suspect's journey in a bid to jog people's memories of the night, which took place in the early hours of Easter Monday.
The Gloucestershire Echo has walked the route in the hope that someone may remember seeing the man who went on to put the woman through a terrifying ordeal.
The suspect is thought to have left Fever nightclub at around 4.10am, and is believed thought to have walked down Ormond Terrace.
He is understood to have approached other girls on his walk before he resurfaced at the taxi rank in the Prom minutes later.
It is here officers believe he approached his victim before sexually assaulting her in the busy street between 4.20am and 4.30am.
Detective Sergeant Hannah Mackie, who is leading the investigation into the incident, urged people to cast their minds back if they were in the area in the early hours of the bank holiday Monday.
She said: "We are continuing to appeal to people who were out that night, taxi drivers and clubgoers to think back and try and remember if they saw this man or may have been approached by him themselves."
The victim of the assault claimed she might have seen her attacker briefly earlier that evening in Fever between 1am and 3am.
The man has been described as white, in his late 20s, 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, with short, mousy brown hair.
He is thought to have tried to gain entry into several taxis before committing the attack, but was turned away, appearing to be too drunk.
After the alleged assault, he is then thought to have got into a taxi - fleeing moments before the police arrived on the scene.
Taxi drivers are thought to be key witnesses to the crime, with many of them working until the early hours of the morning to ferry clubbers home.
The incident is not believed to be linked to two attempted rapes which took place in Cheltenham in February.
Anyone with information about the incident should call police on 101 quoting incident 67 of April 1. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
