Newton 1 Barometrics Reserves 0
A close encounter saw a depleted Newton team take the points in a highly competitive game Cheltenham League clash.
Newton had the better of the first half, creating numerous chances to open up the scoring but wayward shooting kept the scores level.
Influential midfielder Daniel Shatford pulled up just before half-time, so Newton had to re-shuffle going in to the second half.
The game then sprung in to life on the 60th minute when Newton skipper Gavin Garthwaite won the ball on the half way line and played a delightful through ball to Kurtis Burrow's, who found himself on a one-on-one situation. Brurrow's was clumsily brought down by Barometric's Marc Ballantine and vice Captain Chris Antone was able to convert from the spot.
This gave Barometrics something to chase but they were unable to break through the Newton back four of Gary Morrison, Garthwaite, Lee Campbell and Gareth Evans.
