THE new £700,000 revamp of Stroud's Museum In The Park can go ahead, say planners.
Stroud District Council has awarded planning permission for the scheme which will open the museum's derelict walled garden to visitors.
Permission has also been granted to restore walls, path and dipping pond, and create a new entrance from the main museum. Permission has also been granted for a new learning centre with turf roof in the garden.
The first phase of work is expected to start this summer, and fundraising continues for the £700,000 project. Stroud District Council has earmarked £60,000 to support The Friends of the Museum scheme.
