TWO man have been taken to hospital after being shot in Tredworth this morning.
Police officers were called to a firearms incident at a house in Falkner Street shortly before 4.15am today.
The ambulance service also attended and two men were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
One of the victims has serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
The condition of the other victim is not believed to be serious at this time.
Officers remain at the scene and a cordon has been put in place.
A full investigation is under way but so far there have been no arrests in connection with the incident.
The southern end of Falkner Street remains cordoned off, and armed officers remain there, while scenes of crime officers scrutinise a home there.
Chief Inspector Richard Burge of Gloucestershire Constabulary said two men with firearms injuries were being treated in hospital and officers will be speaking to them.
"One man is in a serious condition, while the other man is in a less serious condition but still requires treatment," he said at the scene this morning. He said neither were believed to have suffered life changing injuries.
The force is upping its presence in the area and conducting door-to-door inquiries.
"We would appeal for the public's help in assisting us in finding those responsible," said Chief Insp Burge. "Incidents like this are extremely rare in Gloucester but we have increased the police presence to reassure people."
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area in the early hours of this morning or has any information in relation to this incident is urged to call 101, quoting incident 36 of April 2.
