What's your favourite Gloucestershire day out?

A day at Cheltenham Races or a Gloucester win at Kingsholm.

And your favourite place to eat out in the county?

I love the Hotel du Vin in Cheltenham and our favourite Sunday lunch spot is the Churchill Arms in Paxford.

Worst job you've ever had?

Been very lucky to enjoy all my jobs from junior reporter on a local newspaper to presenting Grandstand. Helping with the lambing at home in Scotland was perhaps the hardest, but still enjoyable.

Have you got any unusual habits?

I am a bit OCD. Though since becoming a mum I am less bothered about tidiness.

Who is your hero and why?

So many sporting heroes, I've been fortunate to follow the fortunes of Sir Bradley Wiggins and Sir Chris Hoy as BBC Cycling reporter for 10 years and have huge admiration for what they've achieved. Donald Woods was one of my inspirations to become a journalist.

What book are you reading at the moment or tell us your favourite?

Just finished A Foreign Affair by Charles Cumming. Favourite is probably A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.

What was the last film you watched?

Lincoln

First single/record you ever bought?

Two on the same day: Abba's Mamma Mia and Sailor's A Glass of Champagne .
