The brakes of a lorry burst into flames on Tuesday night.
It was travelling along the M5 northbound between junctions 12 and 11a when the fire started at 7.50pm.
Ten firefighters from Gloucester North and Gloucester South fire stations rushed to the motorway to tackle the blaze.
They were assisted by a team from the Highways Agency for 20 minutes.
The lorry was left with some damage.
