A man has been arrested in connection with four house burglaries in Gloucester.
Police have also recovered suspected stolen property.
The arrest was made after officers received a call about an attempted break-in on Barnwood Road in the city yesterday morning.
A resident reported disturbing a man who had attempted to get into a house at about 10.45am.
After officers spoke with the victim and further reports of suspicious activity in the city came in, a 45-year-old man from Gloucester was arrested at 2.30pm in Coney Hill Road on suspicion of attempted burglary.
He currently remains in police custody and is also being questioned about three break-ins at multi-occupancy accommodation in Westgate Street that happened yesterday.
PC Benn Pockett said: "After a swift response and follow-up inquiries we made an arrest and recovered suspected stolen property including gold lockets and three laptops.
"We have reason to think one of the laptops has a completed dissertation on it and if that is the case we are going to have a very relieved victim.
"I hope our actions reassure people about how seriously we take reports of this nature."
