STUDENTS are being encouraged to take precautions after a spate of bike thefts around Dursley.
Police have advised them to have their bicycles stamped with a postcode as a security measure.
PCSO Joshua Griffiths said: "We have had a number of bike thefts within the area, so we are encouraging students to postcode their bikes.
"If we find it then we can return it to you. We would also like to remind you that if you are not using your bike, lock it up."
PCSO Griffiths will be in Parsonage Street, Dursley at 9am on Thursday and Rosebery Road at 10am to dish out advice.
