THOUSANDS of people of all ages donned red noses to raise some serious money by doing something funny.
Staff and pupils at Wycliffe College in Stonehouse pulled on their onesies for Red Nose Day and raised nearly £800 with a string of events.
Soak the teacher, beat the goalie, wacky hair day and all day cycling featured at Marling School in Stroud.
Six-year-olds Daisy Koos from Woodchester and Lexi Bennet from Burleigh swam for half an hour to see how many lengths of the Stratford Park Leisure Cntre pool they could cover and each managed to do 12 lengths, raising £300 between them.
The Great St Rose's Bake Off at the Stroud special school raised more £150.
"I didn't realise what a talented bunch of chefs we had in school and congratulations everyone for helping making this a great event," said teacher Lea Anne Ewing, who organised the event.
The whole of Nailsworth supported the BBC TV charity extravaganza, which is celebrating raising a mammoth £75million in its 25th year, with around 90 traders donating prizes to a draw.
There was a new or as-good-as-new stall at The Olive Tree in George Street.
And Stroud Maternity midwives baked and sold cakes in between deliveries, including baby India whose dad Ross Casey from Farmhill in Stroud appreciated a homemade cupcake for just 50p.
At Horsley CofE Primary School, the senior class led assembly singing the Red Nose Song and shared their feelings about Red Nose Day. All the pupils all dressed in red, and the school council sold red cakes.
Red Nose Day was celebrated in style at the former Halfway House pub in Box, now the Halfway Cafe. Manager Sarah Day enjoyed the occasion with themed cakes and drinks for customers.
At Sir William Romney's School in Tetbury, students organised a non-uniform day, a red tombola, a bake-off and several street dance workshops, raising around £800 for Red Nose Day.
