SCHOOL friends reunited to remember two well-loved classmates at an inaugural fundraiser.
Tom Arkell, Hayley Maull and Gina Davies, who organised the family afternoon and evening disco at The Cotswold School, Bourton-on-the-Water, were overwhelmed with the support.
Their charity, Time of your Life, was set up in memory of Adam Beston, 31, from Stow, who lost his battle against a brain tumour in March, and Rupert Greenhill, from Guiting Power, who died of a rare form of Hodgkin's Lymphoma in July last year.
The school event has amassed around £10,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity and Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
Tom Arkell, 31, said: "We want to say a huge thank you to the community, who supported us with stalls, donations and came to the event. It's been an amazing success, which is what we hoped for, and we'll definitely make it an annual event. So many friends from our 1992 school year supported us. Our patron, Adam Henson from the Cotswold Farm Park, opened the event. He played rugby with Adam and Rupert's dad Roland was his vet, so he had strong connections.
"He said our charity had such a fitting name and everyone should try to live life as time is precious."
The Greenhill and Beston families ran their own charity stalls and businesses backed two auctions
Just over 200 people attended the evening music event. Tributes were made by Adam's best friend Sam Pennington and Roland Greenhill.
Britain's Got Talent finalist Pippa Langhorn and The Voice finalist David Julien performed live. Food came from Love My Cow and Lovett Pies and the licensed bar was run by Jack Parsons.
