Three men set upon a 41-year-old man in Lydney earlier this week, leaving him with face and rib injuries.
Police are appealing for information after the assualt, in High Street at about 9.30pm on Tuesday.
The victim was treated by ambulance staff for cuts and swelling to his face and a rib injury.
Anyone who saw what happened to the man is urged to call 101, quoting incident 421 of March 12.
