HUNDREDS of people gathered in Newent this weekend to remember much-loved Bethan Rosetta.
The 20-year-old former Hartpury College student, who lived in Newent, was found dead by a dog walker at the town's lake on February 9.
Her funeral was held last week at Llandeilo chapel near Maenclochog in Pembrokshire, where much of her family live – so on Saturday a special memorial service was held at St Mary's Church in Newent for loved ones living nearby.
The church was packed out with family and friends, who were asked to wear pink items of clothing as it was Bethan's favourite colour.
Those in attendance also carried daffodils into the church.
Led by Reverend Simon Mason, the service included an emotional reading from Bethan's boyfriend Stuart.
He said: "She will be remembered for many things.
"One thing will be her beautiful, beautiful, singing voice.
"She used to sing all the time, but her favourite place was in the shower.
"She also sang to her horse Skye a lot."
Hymns 'Let there be love' and 'Make me a channel of your peace' were sung, and poem 'Remember me', by David Harkins, was also read out.
Following the service, those close to Bethan visited Newent lake to lay flowers and pay their respects.
She grew up in Barry, but her passion for horses led her to Gloucestershire in 2010 to do equestrian studies at Hartpury College.
Prior to her death Bethan was doing an apprenticeship at Britdoors Group and was due to take exams this month and start on the management phase in her job.
The family have asked for donations to Diabetes UK Wales and Liege Manor Equestrian Centre in Bomvilstone instead of flowers.
