Six draws in the last ten games tells it's own story.
If we are going to gain promotion from League Two we need to urgently address our stuttering form and click into top gear.
A trip to Accrington is a trip back into our non-League days, open terracing and small crowds. It's an amazing achievement for them to be even in the football league.
The first half was turgid. We lacked ideas going forward and were sluggish at the back. The only bright point was another coolly taken penalty by Marlon Pack.
Accrington on the other hand looked by far the better side and only Scott Brown and some poor finishing kept us level at the break.
Second half started much the same as the first, Accrington on the front foot and it was no real surprise when they scored to take the lead.
By that time we had just made a double change, Deering and Carter for the ineffective McGlashan and Mohamed. Suddenly we found some urgency and Deering in particular pulled all the strings as we push forward.
From a Carter corner the ball was eventually forced in at the near post by a powerful Pack header. We huffed and puffed after that but in the end another draw was all we deserved.
OUT OF TEN
Brown 7 - Impressed again with some important stops. Given little chance with the goals. Handling good.
Sido 6 - Didn't look comfortable at left back especially against the lively Boco.
Lowe 6 - Steady but caught out positionally a few times.
Elliott 6 - Failed to pick up Beattie for the first goal but generally solid.
Hector 6 - Strode forward a couple of times, would like to see him win more headers in both boxes.
Taylor 6 - Won the penalty with a surge into the box but off the pace and needs to get back to the performance he showed on his debut.
Pack 8* - A brace of goals for our best player on the day. Always wanted the ball and didn't shy away from the challenge.
McGlashan 5 - Never in the game. End product has to improve.
Mohamed 5 - Same as McGlashan, failing to deliver an end product.
Benson 6 - Lacked any good service from midfield but came alive once the substitutions were made.
Harrison 6 - Worked hard and had one snapshot at goal. Needs to show more though.
Subs:
Deering 7 - Superb impact from the bench. Linked the midfield and forwards well and wanted to be involved in everything. Must start against Fleetwood.
Carter 6 - Helped to retain the ball much better when he came on. Calming influence.
Harrad 6 - Not enough time to get into the game.
