Yellow weather warnings of wind and ice are in place in Gloucestershire tomorrow, with gusts due to reach speeds of up to 38mph and light snow showers forecast. The Met Office has issued a yellow warning of ice between 3am and midday on Tuesday, and a yellow warning of wind from 9am until 6pm. Surfaces will remain wet after continued showers of rain, sleet and snow, allowing ice to form, the Met Office says. The ice warning urges the public to be aware of widespread icy stretches on untreated roads and pavements, and to take extra care when walking, cycling or driving in affected areas. Journeys through affected areas may take longer than usual, but road networks should be open. The wind warning calls on the public to be aware of debris being blown around by strong gusts, and says some branches or trees could be brought down. There may be localised travel disruption, and localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes. Drive with care, especially on exposed routes, the Met Office says. Heavy showers are forecast overnight in Gloucester on Monday, turning to light snow by around 9am on Tuesday. Temperatures could feel as low as -4C amid strong wind gusts. Light showers are forecast on Tuesday evening, but a dry and cloudy Wednesday should follow. Wind gusts could reach speeds of up to 39mph. Thursday is set to be cloudy and cold, with light evening showers. The Friday forecast is much the same, but sleet is on the cards from around 6am until 9am. Wind gusts on both Thursday and Friday will have subsided, the Met Office says.
