A FEW new after school clubs have been opened at Pittville School, including Spanish club and a technology club, where students will get to build a glider.
Both these clubs offer excellent opportunities for students to learn new skills which are extremely useful further on in their lives.
I managed to speak to the people who held the clubs and asked what they thought about running them.
Miss Allen, who runs Spanish club on Mondays, said: "I'm very excited to be here teaching Spanish. I think it's a really great opportunity for any student who wishes to learn a language!"
We can tell she's extremely glad to be here teaching Spanish.
Later in the week I attended the Flying Start club.
I talked to Jordan, who works in sales and marketing, and Arron, who is an engineer, both from Dowty Propellers.
They're spending the next four weeks with us designing and building a glider.
They said they're both very happy to share their expertise and help the new generation of budding engineers to build a glider.
The best gliders will be entered into a competition to challenge other schools in a monumental tussle to find a winner.
We'll keep you posted on how the Pittville gliders get on.
