Gloucester Waterways Museum launches canal and river cruises for 2013

Gloucester Waterways Museum has unveiled its schedule of canal and river cruises for 2013, promising to inspire and enthral passengers with the wonders of the local waterways.

Last year almost 11,000 children and adults enjoyed trips on the Gloucester- Sharpness canal and the River Severn on board the museum's King Arthur pleasure boat and the Dunkirk "little ship" Queen Boadicea II.

The cruises begin on March 31 with an Easter tea cruise, leaving the museum at 2pm for a 90 minute trip including scrumptious cake and coffee/tea.

Top canal and river trips to consider booking in 2013 include:
• Saul Junction Cream Tea cruise - May 5
• River cruise to Tewkesbury – June 1
• Afternoon Jazz Cruise – June 30
• Sunset supper cruise - June 6
• Father's Day lunch - June 16
• Live music evening river cruise - July 13
• Frampton Country Fair cruise - September 8

People looking for a venue with a difference for a special occasion are also being urged to consider one of the museum's pleasure boats as the hospitality team have experience in handling all occasions from birthdays, anniversaries, team away days and private party nights to wedding receptions and corporate events.

A range of menus are offered and final touches, including decoration and entertainment packages, are also available.

Gloucester Waterways Museum is now part of The Canal & River Trust, a new charity entrusted with the care of 2,000 miles of waterways in England and Wales.

Housed in a warehouse at the heart of Gloucester's fine Victorian docks, Gloucester Waterways Museum tells the story of our wonderful canals and rivers. You can climb aboard historic boats, enjoy hands-on fun, watch archive films and browse galleries rich in canal heritage and stories.
