A GANG who dragged a 19 year old female pedestrian to the ground in an attack in Stroud are being hunted by police.
The young woman suffered injuries to her face and body before she managed to run off.
The assault in the early hours of Saturday morning in Cainscross Road was "thankfully uncommon" in the area, Inspector Jon Smith from Gloucestershire Constabulary said.
It was, however, "very serious", he said.
Police are circulating descriptions of four men who were believed to have been involved in the attack after getting out of a white van, which pulled up alongside the girl.
The first man is described as white; in his mid-20s around 5ft 6ins tall of stocky build with dark hair. The second and third men are described as white, mid-20s in age around 5ft 8ins tall of average build with dark hair. The fourth man is described as white; in his mid-20s with dark hair. He is around 5ft 10ins tall.
