David Hall's original Hetchins bicycle with curly stays and fancy lugs has been stolen – after being his faithful companion for more than 40 years.
David, 55, has been renovating the old Duke of Wellington pub, on Tredworth Road, with his partner Carol Guy.
The bike was stolen from the Tredworth pub overnight on Monday after 10pm.
The pair discovered both of their bikes missing early yesterday morning.
David said: "The bike has huge sentimental value for me as I remember having it when I was at senior school. I've always had it."
Carol added: "They took my bike too but it was only worth about a £100.
"We have three children and we all like to go out cycling together. We got them bikes and now we haven't got bikes ourselves.
"It's a huge inconvenience for us because we use them a lot to get around."
