SOME might say the panto season is over.

But players from Promenade Productions would have to chorus "oh no it's not" as they prepare to bring the plight of Cinderella to the stage.

The amateur dramatics group will be performing the fairytale at The Bacon Theatre at Dean Close School in Hatherley Road from next week.

There will be ample opportunity for the audience to boo the evil step-mother and ugly sisters, who force good-hearted Cinders into a life of servitude.

But her life improves drastically when she meets her fairy godmother, who sends her to the ball.

Cinderella will run from January 23 to 27, with evening performances beginning at 7pm, and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm.

Tickets cost between £8-£12 and are available on 01242 224144.
