THE ALL Saints' Academy Performing Arts group ended the year by creating and composing a talent show called So You Think You Can.

This encouraged and involved pupils from all years to create an entertaining event.

They showcased their talents and wowed the audience with a spectacular display.

We organised this event to raise money for charities Help for Heroes and Cancer Research. In total, we raised £62.40 and split it evenly between the charities.

The acts were so great that our judges could not decide who would win, so there were two winners.

The two winners – Phoebe Bevan, a beautiful singer, and Laura Sobiegraj, an amazing ballet dancer – gave the money to their house charities.

We also reached a deadlock and passed the second and third place to the audience, awarding dancer Amy Duckworth second place and spellbinding singer Courtney Simmons third spot.

We created this event with only seven of us organising and creating it for our performing arts course work.

This meant we had to have no contribution from our teachers and sole responsibility for the show, anything that went wrong was down to our mistakes.

But after all our hard work, there were no distinctive faults within the final event.

We had a total audience of 60 people who became extremely engaged and supportive throughout every acts performance.

Overall our event was a extremely successful and brought together a cohesive community which were our original intentions. It uncovered some amazing talents that had not been brought to light before.

We are proud to say we have given our fellow students throughout our school more confidence in themselves and to be proud of themselves as they have expressed their true colours.
