MEDICAL training is available for bus and lorry drivers who could be fined in future if they are not properly trained.
With the enforcement of new driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), regulations later this year, St John Ambulance is encouraging professional drivers to include first aid as part of their necessary training.
St John Ambulance's Professional drivers first aid training course helps drivers achieve the minimum 35 hours training required by the directive and gives them the lifesaving skills.
St John runs courses in Staverton, and can also provide on-site training at business premises for groups of six or more.
If bus drivers are caught without proof of compliance after September 2013 and lorry drivers a year later they face on-the-spot fines and could lose their licence.
