ATTRACTIVE flowers will be a provide a welcome to visitors at a renovated garden.
Bishop's Cleeve Women's Institute donated a flowering shrub to the village hall, the Tithe Barn, to commemorate the Queen's 60 years on the throne.
Yvonne Cole, the president of the WI, said their 54-year partnership with the Tithe Barn was an important part of their connection with the community. She said: "This partnership between us is very important.
"I have always fought for us to stay there, and to use the hall for our activities."
The WI committee helped plant a Choisya shrub, and Yvonne said they had to choose a plant that could fit in the area.
She added: "We had to get an evergreen that would grow all the year round, and we decided to pick the Choisya. When it blooms, it'll have beautiful white flowers, which is in line with the Diamond Jubilee."
Bishop's Cleeve WI was established in 1929, and has met at the Tithe Barn since 1958.
Peter Richmond, on the board of trustees for the barn, said: "I'm was very pleased to receive the plant on behalf of the trustees. It'll be very useful for the garden."
