POLICE are searching for a woman who threatened a waiter with a knife when he challenged her for leaving a restaurant without paying for her drinks.
Last night, the woman consumed a number of alcoholic drinks at Chiquita restaurant in The Brewery in Cheltenham and then left without paying at around 10.40pm.
She was followed to Henrietta Street by a member of staff, an 18-year-old man, who tried to speak to her.
She then pulled a knife from her handbag and pointed it at the man before running away.
Officers investigating the incident are carrying out a number of inquiries to try and identify the woman but are also appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
The woman was described as white, around 35-years-old and was wearing a black dress with a white throw over her shoulders and black tights. She had a piercing below her bottom lip.
Information about the thefts can be given to Gloucestershire police by dialling 101 and quoting incident number 649 of January 1.
