Rescuers who leapt in to action to help horses deep in floodwater say all have now been taken away.
The last remaining six animals were off the site next to St Oswald's Park, Gloucester at least by lunchtime today, said Paula Dicks, one of an army of volunteers who fed, watered and cared for the horses which were wading in water up to 6ft deep.
"We understand there were some horses still there at 11pm yesterday (Sunday) but when I arrived today, all were gone," said Paula, from Cheltenham.
"It's very boggy here now - they could not have stayed here for much longer."
The site is next to the East Channel of the River Severn, which burst its banks over the Christmas period. The land was under water around one month ago too. Concerned animal lovers including Nicky Turner-Sterling from Stroud, started a Facebook group which mobilised volunteers who wanted to help.
The volunteers who arrived with hay bales and fresh water over the weekend were angry because they believed the RSPCA was slow to responed - however the animal welfare charity said it had been checking on the horses for a few weeks and with the help of the fire service, had rescued those in need.
The charity also said it had given advice to the owners, who it said should have looked in to the site's propensity to flood before putting the horses out there.
The owners of the horses could not be reached for comment.
