TICKETS for Cheltenham Town's highly anticipated FA Cup third round clash with Everton went on general sale this morning.
Slightly more than 1,000 tickets were available and dozens of people braved the rain to queue up outside the Abbey Business Stadium at 9am.
Darren Richards, 25, who lives in Golden Vale, Churchdown, is a season ticket holder at the club.
"I already have my ticket for the game but I came down last night to get my dad's ticket and today I am getting a ticket for my boss – I am trying to get a pay rise!" he said.
Meanwhile Pete Little, 31, who lives in Prescott Walk in Cheltenham, also bought a ticket but kept a low profile – he is an Everton fan.
He said: "I am an Everton fan but I live in Cheltenham. It is a big game for Cheltenham but it is also a big game for Everton.
"The Everton tickets are sold out and I think it will make for a really good atmosphere – Everton always bring a good contingent with them.
"It will make for a really good atmosphere. I live really close to the ground and I can always hear the crowd on match days.
"It had to be done."
The ground capacity for the game set to take place on Monday January 7 will be in the region of 6,900.
