Emergency services were called to Gloucestershire Airport this morning after an aircraft crash landed.
The pilot and the one passenger escaped without injured when the four-seated plane made the emergency landing on the Staverton runway at around 10.20am.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, Police and the Great Western Ambulance Service all attended the airport on the edge of Cheltenham after the Pioneer 400 reported problems prior to its landing.
Mark Ryan, airport director, said the left hand wheel of the plane had collapsed on landing and spun on the mud.
He said: "We received a report that there was an undercarriage fault on the aircraft and so carried out a controlled landing.
"We fortunately do not get this type of event often, but we do train to deal with this type of thing.
"Both the pilot and the passenger were without injury and so we were incredibly pleased with our response."
