A 16-year-old girl was injured after a stolen car collided with her in London Road in Gloucester yesterday and the driver ran off.
A 23-year-old man was arrested shortly after in connection with the incident following an extensive search of the area.
The girl was hurt at around 5.50pm when a Toyota Auris crashed into her. She was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution for checks on a neck injury.
Officers hurried to the area to cut off possible escape routes and with the support of the police helicopter and dogs unit a man was found and arrested in connection with the incident within half an hour.
He was also arrested on suspicion of a burglary reported shortly before the crash in which the same car was stolen from the driveway of a house in Upton St Leonards after the keys were taken from a handbag in the address.
The arrested man remains in police custody.
