A GROUP of Year 7 headed away from Bourton-on-the-Water to visit Warwick Castle and take a step back in history.
The overall reaction was good. Everyone seemed to find it incredibly enjoyable, including the teacher.
It was also very educational.
Jack Fearne said: "Our visit began when we were greeted by Bob, a gatekeeper who was dressed all in black like a fallen angel with wings and a red mask.
"It was Halloween, and that made it quite spooky."
The majority of the class said that their favourite part of the trip was the part where the giant catapult fired the rock.
The giant catapult was a trebuchet, which was used to enable the castle to defend itself against enemies approaching from far away.
It was funny to think of how the men in the castle had to get in something like a giant hamster wheel to make the trebuchet fire.
The tour around the defence and attack systems of the castle was also good fun.
Tom Westmacott said: "Our tour guide Ryan was great at storytelling and exaggerated lots of stories about burning pigs and spikes put in the moat to capture enemies."
Feeding the ducks during lunch was also fun.
After they had finished the excitement of seeing the castle and some of its many attractions, Class 7W got to explore the gift shop which resulted in a very energetic and sugar-dosed journey home.
