FOREST GREEN ROVERS 1 NUNEATON TOWN 0
Jon Parkin grabbed his seventh goal in four league matches to fire Forest Green into the play-offs zone.
Ady Pennock's side have now won four in a row since the turn of the year, and they kept lowly Nuneaton at arm's length for most of the afternoon.
Parkin almost put the home side ahead in spectacular fashion inside five minutes, letting fly with an instinctive long-range volley that had Nuneaton goalkeeper Christian Dibble beaten and grazed the outside of the far post.
The visitors fell behind in the 19th minute when a quick throw found Parkin in space to flick the ball past Eliott Whitehouse and smash home his 19th goal of the season.
It could easily have been 2-0 four minutes later when Stuart Fleetwood uncharacteristically fluffed a chance from six yards, prodding tamely at on-loan Barnsley stopper Dibble from Elliott Frear's cross.
Whitehouse shot wide from distance in the second half before Russell had to pull off a fingertip save to keep out a 20-yard rocket from Armson.
