SUGAR Ray Leonard is proving a knockout hit with sports fans across Gloucestershire.
The iconic boxing legend is the star of the show at a gala lunch at Cheltenham Racecourse in March – and tickets are already in big demand.
Tim Harris, Gloucester City Football Club manager and the driving force behind the event, said: "Everybody is talking about it. He's an absolute legend.
"We've already sold 250 tickets which is absolutely unbelievable considering they have only been on sale for a short time.
"I'm delighted with the way it's all going and I'm counting down the days until I can meet the great man."
The lunch, in support of Gloucester City FC and Pied Piper – a children's charity based in Gloucester – takes place on Friday, March 20.
The doors open at 11.30am the event begins at 12.30pm.
