SHORTWOOD United joint-managers Alex Sykes and John Evans have been given a selection headache ahead of their Southern League Division One South and West game at title-chasing Taunton Town tomorrow.
They have rotated the squad to good effect in the last two games, which has seen them score five goals against both Bridgwater and Tiverton to sit one point outside the play-offs after a seven-game winless run.
"To stick five on Bridgwater and Tiverton, especially away on a Tuesday night is a fabulous achievement and the pick me up we needed," Sykes said.
"We needed the wins to stay in the play-off push and it was nice to see different goalscorers.
"All three subs scored on Saturday which has given us a right selection headache but it's been brilliant.
"To get all the strikers involved and scoring is brilliant. Josh Klein-Davies started his first game on Tuesday night and has now scored four in five.
"Everyone has reacted really well. Ross Langworthy came off the bench and scored on Saturday and Lewis Sommers did the same on Tuesday so it's a great place to be at the moment.
"When you're in amongst the play-offs you need competition for places."
Taunton have risen up the table to second having not lost in 12 games since they were beaten 2-1 at Shortwood in October.
Sykes said: "I think we were a bit fortunate to beat them so it will be a really big test to see how far we've come over the last few games.
"They're on the crest of a wave but we need to react to the challenge."
Defender Andy Lewis has overcome an ankle injury, while Sykes hopes midfielder Nick Hancock will have recovered from the illness that kept him out at Tiverton.
