Beauty queen India Tyndall has defied a personality disorder and hair loss to make it to the final of Miss Gloucester, but she can't attend the finals tonight.
The 21-year-old, from Linden, earned her place at the big event only to realise that she wasn't going to be in the country.
But the dream isn't over for India, who holds several pageant titles, as Miss England organisers have allowed her to transfer her place in either the final of Miss Cheltenham or Miss Bristol.
"I was so upset when I realised I was on holiday for the final of Miss Gloucester," said India, who held her own beauty pageant at the Guildhall in 2012.
"Being Miss Gloucester is an absolute dream and although I can still go to the final of Miss Cheltenham or Miss Bristol it just isn't the same because Gloucester is my hometown.
"There is always next year though. I will definitely be entering again."
India has also already secured a place at the coveted Miss England final after winning Miss Social Media.
Her photograph received the most 'likes' Facebook with 619 people from across the world showing their support.
"I don't know how it happened. I am just so shocked," said former Beaufort School pupil India.
"I lost my hair due to borderline personality disorder, which I have had since I was 15.
"I have really got on top of the disorder now and I even help people with mental health issues as a support worker at Wotton Lawn Hospital.
"I have come a long way, which is why this competition means so much to me."
Winning Miss Social Media has already led to India being approached by a modelling scout who has offered her an al-paid-for trip to LA in October for a calendar shoot.
being in front of the camera is nothing new for India.
She has been modelling since the age of four and spent years in the fierce world of pageantry.
