FOOD lovers are being asked to show off their culinary skills in a bid to raise money for charity.
Staff from the Redwood Education Centre based in Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and members from The Kambia Appeal in Abbeydale are looking for people to host a Come Dine With Me For Kambia event.
James Dowling, from The Kambia Appeal, said: "We're launching a campaign to raise money to help efforts in Kambia to tackle Ebola.
"Due to the devastating outbreak of Ebola in West Africa, we have had to withdraw our long-term volunteers and suspend our programme of week-long training programmes in Sierra Leone for the foreseeable future."
He added: "In our absence, the Kambia District Medical Officer needs financial assistance during this difficult and tragic time to support the work of his team to fight the spread of the Ebola virus in the district.
"We need to raise money to train local community health workers to undertake vital outreach work in the remote villages to provide health information about the disease to prevent infection.
"Support is also needed to pay for fuel to transport health workers across the district.
"We hope to raise more than £10,000 by the end of February.
"If you would like to get involved, why not host a Come Dine With Me For Kambia dinner party or breakfast or lunch party for four of more of your friends and ask them to donate to our Ebola campaign before February 28."
