Coney Hill 21 Bristol Harlequins 14
CONEY Hill warmed up for their crunch top-of-the-table clash at Newent on Saturday with their 17th win out of 17 in Western Counties North.
The win takes them four points clear of Newent, but they will be disappointed by their failure to gain a bonus point against Bristol Harlequins.
"We could have had another three tries," said committee man Simon Baldwin.
The match was a double header with a place in the RFU Intermediate Cup South West Counties final also at stake – Coney Hill travel to Okehampton on February 14.
Jack Digby rounded off a good move in the backs for Coney Hill's first try on Saturday and Shay Morgan got their second after an interception.
Openside Steve Griffin carried two Harlequins players with him as he touched down for Coney Hill's third before the break.
Craig Holder converted all three but the home side were unable to add to their advantage after half-time
