Emergency services rushed to Stroud after a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
This morning Gloucestershire Constabulary confirmed an elderly man was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with fractured ribs and an injured back, after the collision on London Road at around 10am.
The force said an elderly man driving the car was not arrested.
Police and paramedics arrived swiftly, while passers-by and staff from the nearby Waitrose store offered assistance and helped direct traffic.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital by road ambulance for a check up.
