There's no excuse for Gloucestershire families running out of ideas for things to do over the October half-term holidays with the packed schedule of activities being staged at Gloucester Waterways Museum.
The Museum, based in an old Victorian warehouse in Gloucester Docks, has events and activities lined up for children of all ages between October 20 – October 28.

The Big Draw – Saturday October 20 – Wednesday October 31

Every day of the holidays crafty kids can create imaginative cargo to be included in a giant collage of a canal barge, being produced as part of this year's Big Draw activities throughout October.
The finished barge, complete with cargo will then be on permanent display in the education room of the museum.

Animal Antics - Monday October 22

Rabbits, guinea pigs and ducks from Gloucester City Farm will be making a guest appearance at Gloucester Waterways Museum on Monday October 22. Visitors to the museum will be able to meet the animals and learn more about how they should be cared for as pets.

Wicked Wednesday and "Dark Tales of Gloucestershire"

"Wicked Wednesday" October 24 is perfect for youngsters who want to find out more about six freaky folktales from Gloucestershire as part of the "Dark Tales of Gloucestershire".

John Bassett, from the Spaniel in the Works Theatre Company, will be introducing children and their mums and dads to the legend of Fairy Cinder and the Tale of Old Jinny the Witch during three 30 minute performances being staged at 12 noon, 1pm and 2pm on October 24.

With lots of costume changes, rhyme, music and dance the museum is sure to be filled with plenty of laughter and audience participation.
Come dressed up as a ghoul, ghost or witch on Saturday October 27 and take part in the museum's Halloween trail to win a prize.

The Museum's ever popular canal cruises will also be running throughout half-term week with sailings at 12 noon, 1.30pm and 2.30pm.
