An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in Cheltenham.
A woman, believed to be 22-years-old, called police in the early hours of this morning claiming she had been raped.
The crime is alleged to have taken place in a car park, in Bath Terrace, before 3.45am.
The area was cordoned off for most of the day while Scenes of Crime Officers combed the area for evidence.
A police spokeswoman said: "The suspect was known to the alleged victim so we did not immediately appeal for witnesses.
"However, if anyone was in the area at the time and saw anyting we would ask them to come forward."
The 18-year-old man, from Tetbury, was arrested by police this afternoon and remains in police custody.
