Woodmancote Rainbows Group leader, Annabelle Holder, 19, expressed her thanks to her former leader, Pat Billingham. after taking over the group.
Pat will be retiring after more than 23 years volunteering with the group.Every Monday, more than 10 girls, aged 5-7 years old, turn up at Woodmancote old village hall to be taught various arts and craft, and also play games with each other.
Annabelle was one of Pat's former students, and will be taking over the group, together with good friend Emily Pagel.
Annabelle, a 2nd year business management student at the University of Gloucestershire, said: "We are really excited to take over, but we will really miss her because she has been such an amazing leader.
"I don't really know how she does it, it must be all of her experience because she has been doing it for more than 20 years. She really gets through to the children."
Claire Holder, Annabelle's mother, and the Girl Guiding Bishop's Cleeve district commissioner, said: "I am impressed with the dedicated commitment Pat has shown in running the Woodmancote Rainbow Group over the past 23 years.
"Pat doesn't drive and has walked every week to Rainbows come rain or shine carrying whatever activity the Rainbows will be doing."
