Successful year for Corse Young Farmers

Corse Young Farmers wiped the board during 2011/2012. They were awarded The John Smith Trophy for becoming the champion club in all junior competitions held throughout the year. They obtained first place in junior reading, junior quiz and junior mixed netball and were ranked highly in all the other competitions.
At the recent county AGM the club also won the Beaufort Trophy for being the champion club during 2011/2012. Corse YFC came 1st in intermediate brainstorming, ladies netball, mixed volleyball, men's rugby, many stock judging competitions including milking and dairy judging. They also came second in 4 other highly fought after competitions.
Last week the club, who meets on Monday evenings at Staunton and Corse cricket club at 7.30pm, held a presentation and prize giving with the outgoing county president and chairman, Eric Freeman, to reflect on all their successes.
Katie Hall, last years Secretary of the club said 'The club wouldn't run if it wasn't for the dedication the appointed members give to making the club a success and that's why we came second at Rally in 2012 and are reaching for the stars in 2013.'
As well as interesting meetings and lots of fun, the club have raised thousands of pounds for various charities.  Meetings include; a Paralympian talk, a vet talk, Carol singing and making gifts to sell at their annual Christmas sale at Newent Market Square on the 15th December.
