This poor dog was so desperate for help it hopped straight into the car of an animal lover who stopped to see if it was all right.
The severely emaciated Staffordshire bull terrier cross was found in Juniper Avenue, Matson, on Tuesday by a concerned passer-by.
She is being fed and watered at a rescue centre and now the RSPCA want to track down who is responsible for the neglect that has seen her shrink to just a little over 10kg. She is supposed to weigh about 15kg.
RSPCA inspector Adrian Langley said: "It appeared in Juniper Avenue at about 8pm on Tuesday. A person saw it and it just jumped in their car and then it's been brought to our attention.
"It's in an emaciated condition, it's very poor. It hasn't had any proper nutrition in a very long time, she was extremely hungry. Her bones are visible."
Anyone who knows anything about the dog or its owner is urged to contact the RSPCA and ask for inspector Langley on 0300 1234 999.
