What's your favourite Gloucestershire day out?

A visit to Hidcote – probably the best garden in the world.

And your favourite place to eat out in the county?

The 'Hill Top' in Worcester St Gloucester.

What's the worst job you've ever had?

Director of Nursing to a Health Authority (NB not local!) Quality of patient care hardly ever, if ever, mentioned. I hope it's better now.

Have you got any unusual habits?

No. I live my life perfectly normally - others might have a different view but they would be wrong.

Who is your hero and why?

David Hemery, Olympic gold medalist in one of Athletic's toughest events the 400mH.

What book are you reading at the moment or tell us your favourite?

I've just finished Andrew Marr's 'The Making of Modern Britain'. My favourite author is Le Carre.

What was the last film you watched?

Skyfall. The best Bond ever.

First single/record you ever bought?

Certainly the Beatles – specifically, I think 'She Loves You'. The reason I'm a little vague is because of that old saying – if you remember the 60s you weren't really there.

Facebook or Twitter?

As I need to communicate with a lot of people, especially young people who regard e-mail as old fashioned, I have been dragged kicking and screaming to Facebook.
